Ingredients
-
Flour tortillas (8-inch) - 4
-
Cream cheese (softened) - 4 oz
-
Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp
-
Dijon mustard - 1 tbsp
-
Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
-
Deli ham (thinly sliced) - 8 oz
-
Swiss cheese (thinly sliced) - 4 oz
-
Green onions (sliced) - 2 tbsp
Directions
Prepare the Spread: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and black pepper. Beat the mixture until well combined and spreadable.
Assemble the Roll-Ups: Lay out a tortilla on a flat surface. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire tortilla, reaching all the edges.
Layer the fillings: Place half of the sliced deli ham and Swiss cheese on the spread-covered tortilla. Optionally, sprinkle some sliced green onions over the cheese.
Roll and Chill: Carefully roll up the tortilla tightly, starting from the short end with the filling. Repeat with the remaining tortillas, ham, cheese, and green onions.
Wrap and Refrigerate: Wrap each roll-up tightly in plastic wrap. Place the wrapped roll-ups in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, ideally for 4 to 8 hours, or even overnight, to allow the filling to firm up and the flavors to meld.
Slice and Serve: Remove the chilled roll-ups from the refrigerator and unwrap them carefully. Use a serrated knife to cut each roll-up into slices, about ½ inch thick. Arrange the slices on a platter and enjoy!
Recipe Note
For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese. If the cream cheese is too stiff, soften it in the microwave for a few seconds at low power. You can substitute different types of cheese for the Swiss cheese, such as cheddar, Monterey Jack, or provolone. To add a bit of crunch, spread some crumbled cooked bacon over the cream cheese before adding the ham and cheese. These Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups are perfect for a quick and easy appetizer, snack, or lunch. They're also great for parties or potlucks.
