Ingredients
- 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup gravy
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
Directions
- Place the peeled and quartered Yukon Gold potatoes in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add a pinch of kosher salt and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- While the potatoes are cooking, heat the whole milk and minced garlic in a small saucepan over low heat until warm. Do not boil.
- Once the potatoes are done, drain them thoroughly and return them to the pot over low heat to evaporate excess moisture. Mash the potatoes until smooth.
- Gradually add the warm milk and garlic mixture to the mashed potatoes, stirring until creamy and fluffy. Mix in the gravy, black pepper, and white pepper. Adjust seasoning with salt to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional gravy if desired.
