It is marked by large holes throughout the paste, a buttery yellow coloring and sweet, nutty flavor with just a hint of piquancy. Emmenthaler is very versatile - it's a terrific table cheese served with fruit and nuts, a must for any cheese fondue and the perfect sandwich filler. Serve Emmenthaler with medium-bodied craft beers, cold Chablis or Riesling wine.
