Lancaster Farms Fresh is a group of about 100 small scale farmers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania practicing sustainable and/or organic farming methods. These loose, fluffy, lime-green lettuce heads are picked in the morning then are in our warehouse that same day or the next. The semi-sweet flavor, mild flavor of green leaf is perfect for salads and the ruffled leaves make an attractive and tasty bed for scoops of grain, seafood, chicken or pasta salad. They are also tender and broad enough to make great wraps. Because green leaf lettuce is so soft, they should be gently washed and patted dry, then used within a day or two.
