The phrase "Let's get together for coffee"_x009d_ has become synonymous with "Let's get together to socialize."_x009d_ This is a testament to how ubiquitous this age-old ritual is in our culture. For many centuries, there has been a special coffee making and drinking tradition in the Balkans, the Mediterranean and the Middle East using unfiltered, finely ground coffee beans. And Serbia is no exception. Since the 1990s, Kafa Gold has been a favorite coffee in the Balkans. Using domestically grown beans, our finely ground coffee has bold aroma and rich, full flavor. Unlike American filtered drip coffee or Italian Espresso, Kafa Gold Coffee is prepared in the manner of Greek or Turkish coffee. To make it, you'll need a small narrow necked coffee pot called a "Briki"_x009d_ "Cezve"_x009d_ or "Ibrik."_x009d_ The preparation involves gently boiling the coffee with cold water - adding sugar and ground cardamom or cardamom pods, if wanted - until it comes to a foam.
