Description
Canned mackerel is one of the healthiest and most nutrient-rich fish one can consume. In fact, the American Heart Association recommends at least two servings a week of fatty, oily fish like mackerel, sardines, tuna, salmon and herring. Delamaris Mackerel Fillets in Extra Virgin Olive Oil are made with the best quality boneless, skinless mackerel, bathed in pure extra virgin olive oil and a touch of salt. Rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and an excellent source of protein, vitamin B12 and selenium, our mackerel fillets are the perfect base for a mouthwatering pate or a spread. Blend our fillets with light cream cheese, creme fraiche or sour cream, white onions and pepper - and serve as hors d'oeuvres on toasted bread or crackers. For a divine open-faced sandwich or appetizer, butter (or add a layer of mayo to) a dense, hearty slice of bread. Mash our Mackerel Fillets in EVOO with a fork, top with thinly sliced white onion and flat parsley and finish with a squeeze of lemon. Delamaris Mackerel Fillets in Extra Virgin Olive Oil also make a great base for Asian fish-inspired soups and stews. If you love fish cakes, try your hand at making mackerel patties with mashed potatoes, spring onions and your favorite herbs and spices.
