Yo, it's candy season, my friends! From spooky Halloween to festive holidays and summer celebrations, time flies by so fast, right?
But listen up, here's the real deal: Did you know that Bazooka, the gum kings, also make some non-gum candies? Mind-blowing, I know!
So, when Bazooka reached out to us about their new lineup of holiday-themed sweets to review, I was like, "Okay, I guess I'll be chewing some stuff and tossing it later." But hold up, folks! Turns out, I'm indulging in pure sugar masses here—no gum involved, my peeps.
Just a heads up: My reviews are all about fun, a little sassy, and always honest. Oh, and guess what? I'm not exactly a spring chicken anymore. These candies are made for the younger generation, you feel me? Like, this is the candy that gets 5th graders dreaming. So keep in mind, this review ain't coming from someone seeking a sugar rush before math class or someone who just scored some cash for doing chores and wants to hit up the local store for snacks.
Enough talk, let's dive right in.
Ye Olde Ring Pop
First up, we got the classic "always within arm's reach but not in my pocket, and I can't wait to savor it for hours" Ring Pop. This one ain't holiday-themed, but it's all about being "fashionable." Check out the package, my peeps:
Apparently, Alice + Olivia is some fancy clothing line by Stacey Bendet. Huh, interesting, right? Couldn't find much info on that, so let's skip to the good stuff.
Y'all already know this candy, right? The most important thing is that cherry flavor (on point, fam) and the rock-hard candy. I even tried to bite into it 'cause the ring ain't big enough for my chubby fingers, but let me tell you, breaking it with my teeth was a no-go. So I'm still munching on it while the wife gives me the side-eye during dinner. Oops!
Juicy Drop Gummies
"If it's too easy, it ain't worth it." - Anonymous (or maybe I made that up)
Honestly, I have no clue if that quote exists, but hey, let's talk about the Juicy Drop Gummies and Sour Gel. It's like a sour gummy party, but wait, there's a twist! You squeeze some candy goo all over it and then devour it.
Personally, this candy ain't my jam. It requires too much effort, and eating gel isn't really my thing. But my teenage daughter loved it. She said it's best when you don't go overboard with the goo—just a few drops do the trick.
Funny thing is, we actually reviewed something similar like a decade ago in a video (or something close to it). To be honest, my thoughts haven't really changed much. But I gotta admit, this new cherry melon flavor hit the spot. (Do kids' candies even have flavor profiles? Who knows, man!) Anyway, check out the video below. And keep in mind, the older kid is off in college, the younger one is almost there, and yo, I'm looking way more fly and fit now.
